Hello Tim,
It is very similar to Cobo Mission Hall, in Cobo, Guernsey, Channel Islands.
Kings Barn Mission, Le Gele Road, Castel, Guernsey, Channel Islands:
Built c.1908, now (2021) in the process of reconstruction to be a domestic home.
The original date stone to be kept.
Hello just found your post and perfect timing. Tomorrow is the 114th anniversary of Frank Carey’s foundation stone and we have refurbished it following the conversion into our family home . We plan to unveil it tomorrow
Hi Nigel I have just seen this post and was very pleased to see the mission is to be used as a home while preserving as much as possible.
My wonderful Grandpa was Clifford Falla, you may know the story of which as a young man he preached outside the barn on his families farm Wisteria in Kings Mills.
The congregation grew and they then raised funds to build the Kings barn Mission.
He preached at the mission for many years and I was told stories of my Gran Lily who had a very good sense of humour often got the giggles during a service and the pew could be seen shaking as she tried not to let anyone know.
I also went to Sunday school at the mission and I remember wonderful days out with streamers flowing from the windows of the buses.
My Mum was Miriam Falla
All best wishes for you to enjoy your new home x
I am on Facebook and would love to hear from you or anyone re the mission
